With a family member battling cancer, a local family gets a big helping hand with the fall harvest. Robert Stover was hospitalized July 11 with chronic lymphocytic leukemia and now friends and neighbors are turning out to support the Stovers.

On Friday, combines cruised through the family's wheat fields as part of a communal effort to help the Stovers with their fall harvest. With Robert in the hospital, the family had concerns about getting their crops out. Those worries were relieved as combines and grain trucks filled their fields. Robert says that he is touched to see all of the support.

"I'm just so thankful for this many people in the community and friends. they just poured out of the woodwork so to speak, to help," Robert said.

Nearly 140 acres were harvested, and happily, late Friday night Robert left the hospital and he is now at home recovering and spending time with his family.
