An Ardoch man killed in a tractor fire on the evening of August 26 just east of I-29 in the Warsaw/ Minto area has been identified as 79-year-old Charles Slaminski.

Walsh county sheriff's office believe Charles had a health related issue while operating a tractor, causing him to lose control. The tractor eventually got tangled up on the chisel plow it was pulling, overheated, and then caught on fire.

Officers are waiting for autopsy result to find out what health issue Charles may have suffered from. Randy Slaminski, Charles' son says his father was always willing to help out... no matter what. Even after Charles retired from farming, he would always help family and friends in their fields. Millie, Charle's wife said he was a loving husband, a good man, and always liked a good joke. He had 3 kids, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
