The Philadelphia Macaroni Company in Grand Forks is planning a 12 million dollar expansion as it anticipates continuing growth in the next five years.

The company will build a new warehouse and production line. The expansion will add 60,000 square feet to its facility. Philadelphia Macaroni will break ground on the newest expansion in October. A secondary "mac n' cheese" production line will be installed by mid September. 25 to 30 new employees will be added, doubling production in the next five years. The company employs about 130 workers now and it expects to have 200 by the end of 2018. Vice President of Operations Frank Radano says the company currently produces between 2.5 and 3 million pounds of pasta each week and after the expansion they intend to double that. The move would also bring about 60 construction jobs to the area.
