Labor Day marks the end of summer for many, and locals and our neighbors to the north were in the Grand Cities celebrating the holiday. Local campgrounds and parks were full of fun and relaxation with parents cooking and kids playing. It's been more than 130 years after the first Labor Day holiday was celebrated .

Labor Day has come to mean school is around the corner for some, and a day off work for others. Still, some say it's a great way to wrap up the summer with friends and family. Federal, state and local offices were closed in honor of the holiday. They will reopen Tuesday.
