Over the weekend, you may have gotten the opportunity to visit a piece of history. A WWII B-17 Bomber is making an appearance at the Bismarck airport and one veteran got the opportunity to relive his past.

The boeing B-17 named Sentimental Journey is operated as a flying museum and veterans' memorial. Eighty-nine year old Andrew Schumacher was a ball turret gunner in WWII. He'd spend four to six hours on his back in this small space at the bottom of the plane. He survived 35 missions. It's been nearly 70 years since he's flown in a B-17.
