North Dakota is the nation's second most corrupt state. That's according to data collected by Business Insider from the United States Department of Justice.

Business Insider collected data to see which states record the greatest number of people convicted of public corruption per 100-thousand people. The data spans between 2000 and 2010. While Louisiana takes the cake with 9 convictions per 100-thousand people, North Dakota is number two with about 8 convictions per 100-thousand and it's followed closely by South Dakota. Minnesota, however, is one of the least corrupt states, ranking 46 on the list.
