A group of anti gun violence activists is taking to Fargo's streets, sending out a strong message. They're asking Senator Heitkamp to support legislation requiring background checks for all gun sales. The group, made up of several women from "Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America", is dropping off signed petitions at Heitkamp's Fargo office.

The petitions, filled with more than 41,000 signatures, are only half of a larger call for help. The other part, Backpacks. One representing each young person killed from gun violence every day in our country.

Mara Solberg, with "Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America" says, "as with the families in Sandy Hook, and in Boston, Texas, Colorado, and across our nations, those of us who have lost loved ones as a result of violence, feel that for the most part, the best thing we can do is something good from this."

The group says it will also stop at Senator Hoeven's office in the future. Heitkamp was not in Fargo Wednesday.
