A fire destroyed the home of an Ardoch, North Dakota family this summer. Now, they're getting some help settling in to their new place in Fordville.

Barbara Burnett is a single mom to three teenage boys. Around 7 am on July 31st, one of her sons woke her up screaming that the house was on fire. An electrical fire ruined all their belongings, but the family and their two dogs made it out safely.

After first hearing of the fire on WDAZ, the store manager of Karl's TV and Appliance is Grand Forks decided to help. Scott Sandler got the ok from his corporate office to provide three beds to the Burnetts. Friday, the beds were delivered. Barbara tells us donations like this help keep her going.

"My 13 year old - he's like mom why are you crying? I said this is everything. This is everything we've owned. So it's been tough but we've got tons and tons of things donated," said Burnett.

The estimated value of the beds is around $1,200. Barbara still owns land in Ardoch. She says she hopes to be able to move back there one day.
