Reward offered in fatal shooting of reindeer in Minnesota

McLeod County sheriff's officials are trying to track down the person who shot and killed a prized reindeer used in annual Christmas celebrations.

GLENCOE, Minn. (AP) — McLeod County sheriff's officials are trying to track down the person who shot and killed a prized reindeer used in annual Christmas celebrations.

A $3,000 reward is being offered for information leading to a conviction in the death of Claus, the lead reindeer at Bob Kendall's farm.

Kendall says he's puzzled how someone could so cruelly shoot "such a beautiful creature." Claus was found dead in his pen about two weeks ago. Investigators say they have no leads.

KARE-TV says the Kendalls rent the reindeer for Christmas parties, holiday celebrations, parades and other events.
