A group of concerned citizens is launching a statewide campaign aimed toward putting North Dakota's existing oil and gas taxes toward conservation. The group wants its proposal on the November 2014 ballot. It's called the Clean Water, Wildlife and Parks Amendment. Organizers of the coalition say development across the state is threatening our clean water and natural habitats. So, they want oil and gas tax funds to go toward conservation. The group fighting for the amendment needs 40,000 signatures to get it on the 2014 ballot.
