GOP Party Activists Upset About Payment Of Republican Convention Registration Fees

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A handful of delegates to North Dakota's
Republican convention will have their registration fees paid by GOP
U.S. House candidate Kevin Cramer, and that bothers some party
activists.
Delegates pay a $75 registration fee. The cost drops to $30 if a
delegate is younger than 30. Republicans expect more than 1,400
delegates to attend the Grand Forks convention next weekend.
Cramer says he's paid fees for his future son-in-law and about
four other delegates who are family friends. He's also spending
$1,500 on a bus to take supporters to and from the convention on
Saturday - when Republicans will pick their House candidate.
Cramer's chief rival is Fargo state Rep. Rick Berg. Berg says
his campaign isn't paying convention fees, because it's like buying
votes.
