MINOT, N.D. (AP) - The parents of a Wyoming man killed in a
pickup rollover last summer in Burke County are suing the driver
and another passenger for negligence.
Twenty-year-old Neil Adkins of Cody, Wyo., died when the pickup
he was riding in crashed on a gravel road near Flaxton. The driver
of the car, Jordan Dawn Thompson, pleaded guilty to negligent
homicide and driving drunk.
The federal lawsuit says the 17-year-old Thompson purposefully
steered the pickup truck to make it fishtail on a gravel road, and
eventually lost control.
The other passenger, 19-year-old Grady Halverson of Kenmare, is
being sued for allowing the girl to drive the pickup.
