Health Care Overhaul Ralley Draws Hundreds

A rally against a health care overhaul has drawn at least hundreds of people to the Minnesota State Capitol.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A rally against a health care overhaul

has drawn at least hundreds of people to the Minnesota State

Capitol.

One of the most popular speakers Saturday was U.S. Rep. Michele

Bachmann. The Republican calls the current health care bill a

"government takeover" of health care that will lead to

unaffordable costs.

She urged attendees to voice their displeasure to Democratic

members of the state's congressional delegation.

Congressional Democrats are working on a final version of a

health care overhaul bill. It would provide coverage for 31 million

uninsured Americans and prohibit insurance companies from denying

coverage due to pre-existing conditions.

Fellow Republican U.S. Rep. John Kline told the crowd Democrats

should listen to all the citizens who want the bill to die.
