Disaster Exercise Planned at Grand Forks International Airport

Grand Forks, ND – The Grand Forks International Airport will conduct an emergency disaster exercise on Wednesday, September 18th, 2013. It will get underway at 9:47 a.m. and will be held at the Airport’s training area, on the west side of the airport along County Road 5.

Grand Forks, ND – The Grand Forks International Airport will conduct an emergency disaster exercise on Wednesday, September 18th, 2013. It will get underway at 9:47 a.m. and will be held at the Airport’s training area, on the west side of the airport along County Road 5.

The training area is equipped with a Boeing 727 airplane, which will be

used in the exercise. Dozens of emergency vehicles from the Grand Forks Airport, local and regional law enforcement, area fire departments, Altru Hospital, and Red Cross will take part in the drill. Mutual aid response will also be tested during the exercise, as well as inter-agency communication. The exercise is required every three years by the Federal Aviation Administration. The training is expected to last approximately two hours.
