An emergency disaster exercise, required by the FAA, was conducted at the Grand Forks Airport Wednesday morning.
The event started with emergency personnel responding to an emergency landing at the airport. The training exercise also involved medical and terrorist scenarios. More than 100 people were involved in Monday's event, with around 50 of those being volunteers who acted as the plane's passengers and crew.
"When you have multi-agencies coming together, that coordination, that communication is important and you don't really get to test that until you have a scenario like this," said Lt. Mike Ferguson with the Grand Forks Police Department.
During the next week the agencies involved will debrief and review the exercise.
