With the end of summer, comes end of road work on two of Grand Forks' busiest streets. Traffic is flowing again along the stretch of 32nd avenue. The $2.5 million project stretches from the interstate all the way to South Washington Street. The rehab project consisted of grinding down the existing concrete to make it smoother, or placing a pavement over lay over the rough parts.

The $4 million Columbia Road project is also done, except for some grass planting.

Grand Forks Civil Engineer, Mike Yavarow says, "the nicest thing is that it has you come off of Demers and head south on Columbia. You used to have that problem merging into traffic coming over the overpass, now because you have a through land that goes up to 11th."

The Columbia project was a complete reconstruction.. of just a few blocks.
