WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp today announced that six students and recent graduates are interning this fall in her Grand Forks, Fargo, Minot, Dickinson and Washington D.C. offices.
“I’m thrilled to have six new interns in my offices in North Dakota and Washington, D.C.,” said Heitkamp. “Our interns provide such a valuable service in the office, and I hope they use the opportunity to learn firsthand about Congress and the legislative process, and the importance of public service. I’m lucky to have such a talented group of students and recent graduates helping out in my offices this fall.”
Matthew Musacchia, of Fargo, and Michael Nagel, of Wyndmere, are interning in Senator Heitkamp’s Washington, D.C. office.
Matthew Musacchia is currently a senior at North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND and is studying politics.
Michael Nagel recently graduated from North Dakota State University with a major in Political Science.
Mandan native Andy Conlon is working in Senator Heitkamp’s Grand Forks office. Andy, a senior at the University of North Dakota, is studying Political Science.
Josh Weatherspoon interns in Senator Heitkamp’s Fargo office. He grew up Minot and recently graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a degree in Criminal Justice.
Bailey Walters interns in Senator Heitkamp’s Minot office. A California native, she came to Minot Air Force Base serving as an active duty missile maintenance technician and enrolled in Minot State University’s Social Work program after her enlistment; Bailey is starting her last year as a Minot State University student.
Dickinson native Sarah Jennings interns in Senator Heitkamp’s Dickinson office. She is currently attending Dickinson State University where she majors in History and Political Science.
Senator Heitkamp’s office offers students internships in her state and Washington, D.C. offices during the summer, fall, and spring.
Successful candidates will be those who demonstrate leadership, thoughtfulness, creativity, a strong attention to detail, and a sense of public service. Preference will be given to students who are from North Dakota.
