Man pulls woman from burning vehicle after Sunday night crash

At approximately 10:20 pm Sunday evening, N.D. Highway patrol officers responded to a collision a few miles north of Grand Forks on County Road 11.

At approximately 10:20 pm Sunday evening, N.D. Highway patrol officers responded to a collision a few miles north of Grand Forks on County Road 11. 25-year-old David Jensen was parked on the shoulder of the southbound lane with his flashers on sending text messages. 49-year-old Tracy Ludwig, northbound, failed to negotiate a curve in the road, crossing the centerline and striking Jensen's vehicle head-on. Ludwig's vehicle caught fire and Jensen removed her from the vehicle, pulling her to safety before the vehicle was engulfed.

Both drivers were transported to Altru. Jensen was treated and released, and Ludwig was admitted with non life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles were towed away from the scene. The crash is still under investigation. The Grand Forks County Sheriff's Department as wall as Emerado/Manvel Fire and Quick Response assisted in the response.
