Law enforcement raises 3,000 dollars for Special Olympics North Dakota

Local law enforcement donated their time earlier this week to collect tips at Applebee's restaurants statewide. The event is called "tip-a-cop," and the tips are donated to Special Olympics North Dakota.

Local law enforcement donated their time earlier this week to collect tips at Applebee's restaurants statewide. The event is called "tip-a-cop," and the tips are donated to Special Olympics North Dakota.

The organization helps 1,400 children and adults with disabilities in the state. The Grand Forks Sheriff's Department raised 1,478 dollars Tuesday night but the Grand Forks Police Department won the event, bringing in 1,530 dollars. Last year officers raised more than 14,000 dollars statewide.
