Dispite the quick thaw, The Grand Forks County Highway department says it's staying on top the rush of water.
The county is clearing ditches, culverts, and beneath bridges making sure water is not backing up onto roads and private properties. Grand Forks County Highway supervisor Richard Omstad says even if over land flooding doesn't cause problems, certain roads will go under at high river levels.
On the Minnesota side Authorities in Norman County say the Wild Rice River is rising fast, forcing the closure of several roads.
