Nearly four hundred cowboys and girls are in Devils Lake this weekend for the 30th annual Lake Region Rodeo. Organizers are promising this year will be the biggest yet. Thousands of spectators are expected to come to Burdick Arena in Devils Lake to see competitors put it all on the line for some big prizes. This is the second year the Lake Region Rodeo Association has teamed up with the North Dakota Rodeo Association for their annual shootout.

Riders will compete Friday and Saturday in a wide variety of events, from calf roping to bronc and bull riding. The top riders in each event will compete on Sunday in a winner-take-all final. Organizers say both hardcore and casual fans will find something fun.

There's more than just a rodeo this weekend. After Saturday's event, there will be a dance on the dirt in the arena. The rodeo starts at 6:30 tonight.

The show will continue Saturday at 4:30 pm and Sunday at 1:30 pm.
