In addition to the funding for National Guard Soldiers, other doors were closed in the Lake Region because of a sudden lack of funding.

The USDA office in Devils Lake is closed until the shutdown has ended. Sullys Hill National Game Preserve posted a message on its Facebook page saying it's closed until further notice. The US Fish and Wildlife office was also closed Tuesday. Employees in these offices aren't being paid during the shutdown. Some people in Devils Lake say it's unfair for the government to burden people because they can't agree on a budget.

"Get with the program! People just can't go and not get paid, and times are tough," Sheri Schneider told us.

On the bright side, some agencies remain open in Devils Lake like the Social Security Administration, which is keeping normal hours during the shutdown.
