MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Police said a dispute between two families may have led to a large brawl in Moorhead on Wednesday afternoon.
An FBI agent saw two large groups fighting in the 3000 block of 18th Street South and reported it to police, Moorhead Lt. Mike Detloff said.
Detloff said at least 20 people were involved in the fight, including men, women and youths.
Officers broke up the fight and at least 15 people were cited for disorderly conduct.
“We didn’t get a lot of cooperation there,” Detloff said. “We issued a number of tickets to those we could prove were fighting.”
Detloff said the fight is not believed to be gang-related.
“It seems to be a dispute between two families and it’s been going on for a couple days,” he said. “It just never got to the point where they were fighting.”
Moorhead police, Dilworth police, Minnesota State Patrol officers and Clay County deputies assisted in breaking up the fight and citing those involved.
