FARGO – Police are looking for a sex offender who failed to maintain contact with officers.
Fargo police said 31-year-old Christopher James McPhail of Fargo has not maintained his registration as a sex offender and has not been in communication with law enforcement. He is required to notify officers where he lives because he is considered a moderate-risk offender by the North Dakota Sex Offender Risk Assessment committee.
McPhail left his last known residence and his whereabouts are now unknown, according to a release from Fargo police.
McPhail was convicted of statutory sexual seduction in 2000 in Churchill County, Nev. The victim was a 15-year-old female acquaintance.
A report has been submitted to the Cass County State's Attorney's Office for review of possible charges, the release said.
McPhail is required to register as a sex offender until 2031.
