Woman arrested after chase and car fire in North DakotaU.S. marshals say they arrested a woman on a federal warrant after she led them on a chase through three counties that ended with a car fire.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — U.S. marshals say they arrested a woman on a federal warrant after she led them on a chase through three counties that ended with a car fire.
Authorities say 40-year-old Kelly Touche Redroad was wanted for a supervised release violation stemming from a conviction for conspiracy to commit bank fraud.
The Bismarck Tribune reports officers from multiple agencies followed Redroad on Wednesday from Morton County west on Interstate 94 and north on Highway 31.
After officers flattened her tires, she drove a while on the rims but eventually stopped.
Authorities say Redroad threatened to cut herself with a knife and held down the accelerator until the vehicle overheated and caught fire.
Officers then forced her out of the vehicle and arrested her.
