Bacon and beer, a win-win situation this weekend at the Happy Harry's Beer and Bacon Festival. But only one person can say he won the inaugural bacon-eating contest. 34-year-old Jason Day of Crookston won by putting away 27 strips in just two minutes. Day says eating that much bacon didn't phase him much. After all, he spent a month practicing for the contest.

Day said, "We made a bunch of bacon and soaked up some bread in the bacon grease, just kind of really tried to immerse myself in the piggy, and just kind of mental preparation."

Local restaurants vied for the best bacon dish at the festival. Rhombus Guys won the judge's award. Ground Round won the people's choice award.
