Grand Forks city leaders and high school students played host Wednesday. A delegation from the Japanese city of Kanuma stopped by for a visit. The delegation included the Vice Mayor of Kanuma, he stopped by city hall Wednesday afternoon for a meeting with Grand Forks Mayor Micheal Brown. The student delegation was part of a foreign exchange program and was greeted with a ceremony earlier this morning at Red River High School.

Mayor Micheal Brown says, "It's been going on 21 years and this is our 19th student exchange and our students will go there next October. And with the world getting smaller and smaller it gives our kids bigger eyes on the world and more opportunities and we see our children grow and the comeback changed."

Kanuma absorbed a city that was previously Grand Forks' Japanese sister city, Wednesday's meeting hopes to re-kindle that relationship.
