Tuition at North Dakota and Minnesota colleges continues to rise, but not as quickly as in past years.

That's according to the College Board's annual report released this week. Adjusted for inflation, tuition at North Dakota's four-year colleges rose 1.7 percent compared with the 2012-2013 academic year.

In Minnesota tuition actually fell by .9 percent. Nationally, tuition rose less than 3 percent -- the smallest one-year increase in more than 30 years.

The national average in-state tuition at four-year colleges is more than 9,000 dollars. UND's tuition this year is 7,500 dollars. At North Dakota's two-year colleges tuition averages 4,100 dollars, significantly more than even the national average of 3,200.
