Altru Health System is facing some tough economic conditions once again. Hospital officials say their medicare reimbursements have been slashed by one million dollars each month.

To combat the decrease they're looking at the hospital's employee hiring and replacement process.

Altru officials say they're looking at reducing staff through attrition in an effort to become a more efficient provider. Altru Health System is the number one private employer in Grand Forks with more than 4,000 employees. But with less money coming in, it's unclear how many of those positions may need to be combined. Cynthia Johnson reports.
