Coming off a 16-17 season and another trip to the CollegInsider.com Postseason Tournament, the UND men's basketball team returns four starters from last spring, making it one of the most anticipated season's in program history.

North Dakota was picked second in the Big Sky preseason coaches' poll and third in the media poll making dreams of a NCAA Tournament birth a reality.

UND head coach Brian Jones, "It's always been a dream of ours. It's about continuing to get better, continue to establish ourselves as a Division I member. Now that we've been to the CIT, which is a great tournament, it's been great to us for three straight years, we want to take another step forward."

Troy Huff, UND senior guard, "That's why you play the game of basketball. We don't want to shoot for anything less. Obviously, the CIT tournaments, those are great ran tournaments but that isn't our goal this year. Our goal is to make it to the big dance and that's what we hope to do."

The squad returns the bulk of its backcourt that includes seniors Aaron Anderson, Josh Schuler, Troy Huff, and Jamal Webb, who have combined for 3,317 points at UND.

Junior Lenny Antwi and sophomore Shane Benton will look to add depth to the guard position. Antwi averaged 4.7 points per game last year while Benton added 2.9 ppg.

The green and white also add some new faces that could make an impact, especially in the post.

Texas Tech transfer Jaron Nash and forward Alonzo Traylor are both eligible this year looking to contribute right away.

Joining them in the paint will be senior and East Grand Forks, Minn. native, Brandon Brekke. The 6-8 center started eight games last season but was plagued with injuries throughout.

UND opens up the season at home against Minnesota Morris on November 13th. Before opening Big Sky play, UND travels to Wisconsin, Butler, and will participate the "Global Sports Hardwood Classic" in Eugene, Oregon.

North Dakota State plays UND at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center on November 24th. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. against the Bison.
