Eleven years ago Tuesday, November 5th, the body of 19 year old Russell Turcotte was found a few miles from Devils Lake. The teen was hitchhiking from Fargo to Montana. His death has never been solved, despite an eleven-year long murder investigation.

Turcotte's family lives far from Devils Lake, but there are still people in the Lake Region holding out hope justice will come. Twice a year, on the day he disappeared and the day his body was found, family acquaintance Jesse Ramey-Gillem comes to the site and prays for Turcotte. Ramsey County States Attorney Lonnie Olson says the case has been handled the same way every other homicide in Ramsey County. Ramey-Gillem says she's just hoping for a resolution.

Ramey-Gillem said, "Cold cases can always have new life put in them, and this is a case in our community."

Olson says there is still an active murder investigation going, and he keeps in touch with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation whenever.
