Police continue to investigate a hit and run caused by a drunk driver Sunday that sent two people to Altru hospital.

Four people were hit by the car, but police say despite their original report, only two were sent to the hospital and were released the same day.

It happened about 3:30 Sunday morning near the 1500 block of North 6th Street in Grand Forks. When officers arrived the vehicle and driver had already left the scene. The driver was later identified as 33-year-old Miranda Patnaude of Grand Forks. She was was arrested for DUI and taken to Altru Hospital with injuries unrelated to the accident.

"At this point she's facing DUI. There might be additional charges pending depending on how the investigation goes. That's probably going to be in a couple days or so that we forward any additional charges over to the state's attorney's office," said Lt. Dwight Love with the Grand Forks Police Department.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police department.
