The North Dakota Stockmen's Asssociation is working to help ranchers in need rebuild their cattle herds.
The Stockmen's Association and the Stockmen's Foundation have teamed up to donate $10,000 to the South Dakota Rancher Relief Fund. The non-profit organizations are now donating 10,000 dollars to help North Dakota ranchers that were impacted by the early winter storm Atlas, and they need your help and donations to make that 10,000 dollars grow.
"This is just a devastating loss that sets many livestock operations back many, many years. We've lost lost good genetics and generations of cows that we have built in our herds and so certainly it's going to take a long time to rebuild those genetics and rebuild numbers. It's just not that easy to take a hit in this devastated storm and then go spend several thousands of dollars to purchase an animal," said Scott Ressler with the Stockmen's association.
