A 33-year-old man was found dead early Sunday and three men are in custody in connection with a related burglary, said Grand Forks County Sheriff Bob Rost Monday morning.

The man lived at on 17th St NE, west of the Grand Forks airport.

Because it's still an active crime scene, we're releasing few details, Rost said.

It happened at about 1 a.m. Sunday. Deputies responded to a call and found a man dead from an apparent stabbing. Three males later were arrested in connection with a reported burglary at the same residence, Rost said.

Deputies are working with the state's attorney's office on search warrants and other aspects of the investigation said.

"At this time the public does not appear to be at risk. The nature of the investigation is ongoing," said Grand Forks County State's Attorney Peter Welte.

No other information, including where it happened or the names of the people involved, has been released yet.
