Crews were searching for a water main break at the Columbia Mall in Grand Forks Monday, but one hadn’t been found as of the mid-afternoon.
Bill Reid, the mall’s general manager, said electric and other utility lines were marked over the weekend before the contractor began searching for the break.
“I’ve got a lot of water lines out there,” Reid said. “As soon as we find it, we’ll repair it.”
Several stores were closed Saturday after being flooded by a water main that broke Friday evening somewhere between J.C. Penney and Sears in the mall’s northeast quadrant. One store, Foot Locker, remained closed Monday, Reid said.
Reid said he wasn’t sure when the water main would be replaced, or how much it would cost to do so.
“All of that lies ahead of us still,” Reid said. “And it does take some time to do it.”
