1 injured, 1 charged in Crookston stabbing

One man has been arrested after a weekend stabbing in Crookston that left one person with a throat injury.

One man has been arrested after a weekend stabbing in Crookston that left one person with a throat injury.

Crookston Police Department responded to a report of a fight in progress at 1:06 a.m. Saturday in downtown Crookston, in an area that includes the M&H Gas Station and Crook’s Club.

When police and Crookston Area Ambulance arrived on the scene, they found one person with a throat injury and learned that the suspect already had fled the scene on foot.

Police arrested Carlos Ismael Garcia at his home shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday. He was charged with first-degree assault, as well as for a warrant for failure to appear.

The victim was treated at RiverView Healthcare in Crookston and released.

The incident remains under investigation. Polk County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the incident.
