Grand Forks County received approval from the U.S. Air Force this week to move forward with the master developer chosen for Grand Sky, a business park for unmanned aerial systems to be built at the Grand Forks Air Force Base on land the County will lease.

In the letter County Commissioner John Schmisek received from Brian Brown, Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC), Brown congratulated Grand Forks County on its selection of FDSL, LLC and said he looks forward to the County's progress of the project. FDSL, LLC is a joint venture between the principles of FD Stonewater and Lynxs.

"This is another big step in moving Grand Sky forward. The County is very appreciative of the Air Force's efforts to turn this approval around quickly," Schmisek said.

The County has started negotiations with FDSL, LLC to complete the developer agreement. In addition, FDSL, LLC is making plans with the County to come to Grand Forks in early December to meet with regional stakeholders
