Grand Forks police have released surveillance photos of a suspect in a March 15th purse snatching attempt at a Grand Forks Hugo's grocery store.

Grand Forks police have released surveillance photos of a suspect in a March 15th purse snatching attempt at a Grand Forks Hugo's grocery store.

On March 15th, police were called to the 32nd Avenue South Hugo's store after a woman told them a man had tried to snatch her purse in the parking lot. The suspect tried to run away with the purse but dropped it after the victim yelled at him. An employee chased him but lost sight of the suspect. Nothing was taken from the purse.

Police Department K-9 units tracked the suspect but eventually lost the him.

The suspect is described as: white or Hispanic male, late teens to early 20’s, brown hair and a goatee last seen wearing a yellow hooded sweatshirt. Surveillance photos show the sweatshirt appears to say "Spoiler Wrestling" on it.

Police say an unknown woman in the photos is associated with the suspect as they walk to the store together, as well as enter and exit the store near each other. At this time their relationship, if any, is unknown.

The Grand Forks Police Department requests that anyone knowing either the male suspect, or possible female acquaintance contact the police department at 701-787-8000.
