The Grand Forks community continues to remember Eugene Hougo who died Monday at Altru after battling terminal cancer for months. Hougo was 62 years old.

He was a very big fan of Grand Forks law enforcement. Especially after a ride along with police 30 years ago. Officers say Hougo will always have a special place in their hearts.

"He was the kind of guy, he was just super humble and just had an attitude of gratitude about everything all the time. And you know every cop has a story about an event or someone that changed their life, well for me it was Eugene," said Lt. Grant Schiller.

Hougo's funeral will be at 9:00 Saturday morning at the St. Anne's Guest Home in Grand Forks.
