Student writers put down their pens today and got ready to listen, as they took part in the UND Writers Conference. The theme of this year's conference is "mind the gap." Students say they're exploring media they don't usually get to in the classroom. At the conference, students are participating in panels on topics like "are books obsolete?" They also listen to readings and lectures. This year students will hear from Deena Larsen, Cecelia Condit and Saul Williams.
"I'm hoping to gain a new perspective on different forms of writing and expression, and I think this is a perfect opportunity to do so," said UND student Laura Ashburn.
The Writers Conference will continue through Saturday.
