Early Sunday morning, at about 5:25 am, Grafton police were dispatched to 5th St. Near Burgamott Avenue in Grafton. There, officers found an unresponsive 62-year-old man, Danny Leroy Leedahl. Leedahl was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to the UND Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. At first police suspected a "hit and run" because Leedahl was found outside, but they now believe it's more likely he suffered a heart attack or other medical event.

Neighbors told WDAZ that Leedahl had suffered a diabetic shock about a month ago. Still neighbors say it was not like Leedhal to be out and about on the street that early in the morning. Police say Leedhal will be missed by the entire Grafton community. Final autopsy results are pending.
