Between 5 and 6 thousand regional crop producers passed through the turnstiles for the Northern Ag Expo at the Fargodome. The two day event wrapped up Wednesday and featured more than 250 companies. A few topics dominating discussion included the management of soil salinity, weeds and price marketing. But the main focus of the event was the advancement of technologies used in machinery.

Executive Director of ND Agricultural Association, Gary Knutson said, "You know, they say the next 50 bushels of corn on that average yield is probably going to come from this precision ag from this technology as opposed to new traits being bred into the crops."

The expo has always taken place in December, as it's generally the time when farmers make decisions concerning production for the rest of the year.
