First major snow storm tops previous amount of snow record by more than an inch

The first major winter storm of the season is over. It leaves in its wake a record amount of snow. A total of 7.3 inches fell in Grand Forks Wednesday, topping the previous record for December 4th by more than an inch. Since Sunday, nearly 10 and a half inches has fallen in Grand Forks.

The first major winter storm of the season is over. It leaves in its wake a record amount of snow. A total of 7.3 inches fell in Grand Forks Wednesday, topping the previous record for December 4th by more than an inch. Since Sunday, nearly 10 and a half inches has fallen in Grand Forks.

Thursday's 7.3 inch snow fall set a new record that hasn't been touched in years. The previous high was for the date 6.2 inches in 2007. All of that snow left a lot of work for plows and residents.
