Milk prices could soar if new farm bill isn't passed

Milk prices make the Farm Bill a reality check for just about every family in the country. The National Milk Producers Federation believes the average cost of $3.46 a gallon, could go up 3 to 4 dollars if a new bill is not passed.

And health food store owners say you could consider your options. Nut milks and organic cow milk at the store will be exempt from feeling the drop in subsidies, making it the same price as the subsidized milk found at grocery chains.

Darby Smith, Healthfood Store Owner said, "People want to have good, healthy food available to them. It's grass fed, it's non-homogenized, it's glass bottled and it's organic. So, a person knows what they're getting and they know that they're getting a good, quality product that's safe for them and their family."
