Dickinson Park Board President announces run for House seat

Dickinson businessman and Park Board President Mike Lefor announced Monday that he is seeking the Republican nomination to represent District 37 in the North Dakota House of Representatives.

DICKINSON, N.D. -- Dickinson businessman and Park Board President Mike Lefor announced Monday that he is seeking the Republican nomination to represent District 37 in the North Dakota House of Representatives.

Lefor has been the district Republican chair since 2011 and said he is looking to take a more active role. The District 37 seat, representing most of Dickinson, is being vacated by Nancy Johnson, who has moved to Fargo.

“We are at a critical juncture in our state's history,” Lefor said. "The decisions we make today will have a long-term effect on North Dakota and on the west region in particular."

Lefor said his focus is on ensuring property tax relief for citizens of the state. His priorities include housing, health care, law enforcement, education, and transportation.
