New Year's events in Grand Forks

With the new year drawing ever nearer, Grand Forks groups and businesses have come together to keep you and your family busy while you're waiting to turn that calendar page.

With the new year drawing ever nearer, Grand Forks groups and businesses have come together to keep you and your family busy while you're waiting to turn that calendar page.

From 6:00-midnight the Alerus Center is hosting "Celebrate the Night" -- a family event with live entertainment, food, fireworks and more. Performers include bands The Ricks, Penumbra and Troubadour and magician Nick Bretz. There will also be inflatable games, basketball, and a fireworks show to close the night. Tickets are $8 at the door, or $6 in advance from any Hugo's or Valley Dairy location. The Canad Inn will also have live music, the Lions' Christmas in the Park is extending its hours until midnight, and Dakota Lanes on the Grand Forks Air Force Base will host $1 bowling, music and door prizes. Albatross in Grand Forks will also have tee times on their golf simulators till close Tuesday night.

Rhombus Guys will hold free entertainment, Muddy Rivers will hold a comedy and music show, and the Grand Forks Senior Center will holdy a New Year's Eve party as well.
