Woman flees Grand Forks Police Department, drives on sidewalk

A Grand Forks woman was arrested this afternoon after she tried to flee police on residential sidewalks, the police department said. Alison Marie Walker, 25, is being charged with theft of services, fleeing, reckless driving and reckless endangerment, police said.

A Grand Forks woman was arrested this afternoon after she tried to flee police on residential sidewalks, the police department said.

Alison Marie Walker, 25, is being charged with theft of services, fleeing, reckless driving and reckless endangerment, police said.

Police were dispatcher to a south end business around 3:30 p.m. En route, they were told the suspect had left in a Chevy Blazer and was being followed by the victim.

When officers got in view of the suspect, she tried to escape by driving down the sidewalks. Officer followed from the road for about six blocks until the suspect became stuck in a snow bank and surrendered.
