North Dakota Democrats were still searching for a candidate for attorney general as their state convention ended Saturday.

Party chairman Mark Schneider said the search will continue, and the party's state executive committee will choose a candidate later. They must turn in an endorsement certificate to the secretary of state by 4 p.m. April 9.

Incumbent Republican attorney general Wayne Stenehjem is running for re-election.

Democrats picked candidates for six statewide offices during their convention - Tracy Potter for U.S. Senate, incumbent Rep. Earl Pomeroy for the U.S. House, Brad Crabtree for the Public

Service Commission, Corey Mock for secretary of state, Cynthia Kaldor for tax commissioner and Merle Boucher for agriculture commissioner.
