The BNSF claims office in Casselton was a bit more vacant Friday. BNSF opened the claims center for residents of Casselton after the derailment of a crude oil train Monday.

The BNSF claims office in Casselton was a bit more vacant Friday. BNSF opened the claims center for residents of Casselton after the derailment of a crude oil train Monday.

The office is working to compensate residents who lost wages or had to pay out of pocket for food, travel or lodging because of the town's evacuation. Only 30 claims were handed in on day 2 of the office's opening, an 85-percent decrease from the 200 submitted Thursday.
