In South Sioux City Iowa a 2-year-old was left in her mother's car for 9 hours!

On Tuesday when the temperatures were just above zero, Anna Salas headed to work. Nine hours later her husband went to pick up their daughter at daycare, only to find the child wasn't there.

It was then discovered the child had been left in Salas' car the entire time. The child was treated and released from a local hospital. Officials say the mother was distraught and shaken which led them to believe the move was unintentional.

Union County Sheriff Dan Limoges said,"It just kind of breaks your heart after you hear a child being left alone there for that many of hours in the weather that it is."

The case has been sent to the South Dakota states attorney for review, possible charges could be child abuse or neglect.
